2016 3Rs Prize Winner: Joanna Makowska

The 2016 3Rs Prize was awarded to Dr Joanna Makowska from the University of British Columbia, Canada at an awards ceremony in Central London on 8 March 2017.

Dr Makowska's research provides evidence of the importance of simple and natural behaviours such as burrowing and standing upright (rearing) to rat welfare. You can read more about the winning research on our news pages.
