3Rs Stimulus Fund online mini symposium: 'New 3Rs research'

On the afternoons of Tuesday 23 June and Friday 26 June the Animal Welfare Body Utrecht of Utrecht University and UMC Utrecht will host a two-part online mini-symposium on ‘New 3Rs research’, initiated by the 3Rs Stimulus Fund. Four grant holders will talk about their research into replacement, refinement and reduction – all are welcome to attend. The mini-symposia will be held in English.

The symposia will cover the following topics:

Tuesday 23 June 2020, 3-4 pm (CEST) / 2-3pm (BST)

  • SimUpig: A model to teach venipuncture in pigs – Ellen Meijer, Utrecht University
  • An animal-free hydrogel for human organoid culture – Shicheng Ye, Utrecht University

Friday 26 June 2020, 3-4 pm (CEST) / 2-3pm (BST)

  • More nanoparticles with fewer mice – Martijn Evers, UMC Utrecht
  • Soft plastination of air sacs in chicken: how to show air? – Claudia Wolschrijn, Utrecht University
