Now in its fifth year, the UK Biobanking Showcase (organised by the UKCRC Tissue Directory and Coordination Centre) is a forum for biobankers, academic researchers, those from industry, the public sector, charities, and patients and their representatives to gather and to share experiences and best practices. This includes the potential for biobanking to replace and reduce the use of animals in research.
This year the event will be held at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham and will feature presentations on a wide range of topics by speakers from regulatory agencies, academia, and industry; interactive, audience-led debates; and plenty of opportunities for networking.
A free workshop on “Making your resource visible: help and tips for registration” will be held on the afternoon of 18 November. A celebratory pre-conference dinner to mark the Showcase's fifth anniversary will also take place on 18 November at the De Vere Orchard Hotel.
