Boost to funding for 3Rs research

The Science Minister, David Willetts MP, has announced £3 million of new funding for the NC3Rs.

The funding, which has been provided by the Medical Research Council (MRC), is specifically to support the Centre's open innovation programme CRACK IT.

Dr Vicky Robinson, NC3Rs Chief Executive, said: "The new funding from the MRC is a real boost to our efforts to discover new ways of reducing animal use and improving animal welfare. We are grateful for the MRC's ongoing support and the recognition that our work not only delivers benefits for animals but also for the wider biosciences community."
