The 2017 CRACK IT Challenges were launched on 7 September at an event in central London where Challenge Sponsors presented their Challenges to potential applicants. The Sponsor presentations and Challenge-specific Q&A documents can be accessed through the links below.
There are three 2017 Challenges:
- Challenge 26 DARTpaths: Mapping developmental and reproductive toxicity (DART) genes and pathways for cross-species comparison of toxic compound effects (Two Phase Challenge).
- Challenge 27 DoCE (Dosing for Controlled Exposure): Dosing strategies for in vitro dose-responses with increased relevance for in vivo extrapolation (Two Phase Challenge).
- Challenge 28 RespiraTox: In silico model for predicting human respiratory irritation (Single Phase Challenge).
The Two Phase Challenges offer up to £1 million funding and a research contract for up to three years. The Single Phase Challenge offers up to £100k funding and a research contract for up to one year. More information on the Challenges and how to apply can be found here.
Applicants are invited to tender for the 2017 CRACK IT Challenges. The aim of the competition is to develop technologies with potential 3Rs[1] benefits into new products and methodologies for the biosciences research community. The Challenges are detailed in the Challenge briefs.
This Invitation to Tender should be read in conjunction with other documents associated with this competition. The Guide for Participants provides further details on the competition and includes the rules applying to Sponsors and applicants.
