In vitro model of spinal cord injury

Professor Susan Barnett (University of Glasgow) has developed an in vitro model of spinal cord injury for the assessment of reagents that may potentiate central nervous system (CNS) repair. Industry or academic partners are sought, to provide novel reagents or compounds with preclinical/clinical data available to test in the model, either alone or in combination, to assess the utility of the system in identifying potentially efficacious enhancers of CNS repair. This model can provide a screen for the early identification and removal of drugs destined to fail because of a lack of efficacy, reducing the number of compounds entering animal studies.
