Our current training offer
An interactive session on meeting the expectations of funders regarding the 3Rs and experimental design whilst also improving your science, this session is intended for researchers but much of the material can be adapted for students.
A workshop on performing welfare-focused studies in a variety of species, the primary audience for this session is animal technicians but may also be suitable for researchers.
A primer on the fundamentals of good experimental design intended as an introduction or refresher on performing high quality research. Includes resources such as the ARRIVE guidelines and the EDA and is intended for students or researchers.
Gain insights into what makes for a competitive application to our funding opportunities in either a short talk or longer workshop aimed at researchers considering applying to us.
A general introduction to the 3Rs and animal research ethics, this talk is suitable for a wide variety of audiences.
To complement our online support for the Experimental Design Assistant (EDA) we also offer introductory workshops aimed towards early career researchers. We are also developing the use of the EDA to teach students good experimental design.
Our Training and Engagement Team delivers free 3Rs training across the UK and sometimes further afield. Sessions range from general introductions to the 3Rs and animal research ethics, good experimental design in research involving the use of animals, animal welfare and workshops based on implementing resources from the NC3Rs and other outputs from our office-based projects.
The format of these events varies from short talks as part of larger symposia up to interactive workshops across a couple of hours. Whilst some of the material has been developed with a particular audience in mind, many of our training opportunities can be tailored to suit researchers, animal technicians or students.
Above you can see the current selection of key training that we are delivering, we vary this approximately three times a year. We do have additional training opportunities ready to deliver on topics from welfare to reproducibility and are always developing more, so please get in touch.
