CRACK IT winners to be announced Winners of the 2011 CRACK IT Challenges competition will be announced by NC3Rs at the NC3Rs Annual Science Review on 28 February 2012. The five Challenges are funded by NC3Rs with in-kind contributions from industry sponsors AstraZeneca, Huntingdon Life Sciences, Janssen, Lilly, Syngenta and Unilever. Over £4 million funding available for collaborative research through CRACK IT The NC3Rs launches its new open innovation programme, CRACK IT, on September 20 with an initial £4.25 million of funding. CRACK IT connects universities and industry to accelerate the translation of research into practice. The initial six CRACK IT Challenges have been posed by industry and the NC3Rs will fund collaborative research to solve them. 20 September 2011
CRACK IT: Call for orphan solutions Have you a solution searching for a relevant problem or application? As part of its open innovation programme CRACK IT, the NC3Rs has launched a call for orphan solutions in all areas of bioscience research. Scientists at universities or SMEs can submit technologies or ideas which could provide the next generation of research tools while minimising the impact on animals in research. 19 September 2011
