Innovative development of a rodent shelter for post-operative care

The Swedish 3Rs Center are hosting Lena William-Olsson (AstraZeneca Gothenburg) and Allen Pearson (Malsen Medical) in this webinar to explore their collaboration on the NC3Rs Rodent Shelter CRACK IT Challenge.

Earlier this year, we awarded Malsen Medical funding to develop NestLab, a shelter for mice and rats with a Smart Control Module that integrates controllable wireless heating with body heat monitoring. They are working closely with Challenge Sponsors AstraZeneca and the University of Gothenburg, to develop Nestlab as an easy-to-use solution that improves rodent post-operative care, providing shelter, warmth and a means to monitor rodent welfare.
