An online workshop delivered by the Research Animal Training (RAT) platform aimed at animal technicians, veterinarians, research staff and facility managers seeking to improve welfare and implement refinements in their current protocols for laboratory rodents and rabbits.

The programme combines pre-recorded webinars, e-learning modules and live sessions with Q&A and interactive exercises. 

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding the concepts of stress, distress, pain and suffering.
  • A review of welfare assessment methods that are applicable across multiple species.
  • Severity assessment, including cumulative severity and setting humane endpoints.
  • Applying welfare knowledge to minimise pain and distress in research animals.
Registration is £300 and includes an annual RAT membership.
