Registration Details
The ARRIVE study plan supports researchers during the planning stage of experiments to efficiently record (in one place) the information that is required for various purposes so that it can be used by ethical review bodies and the animal facility and subsequently when reporting the findings in the scientific literature. This webinar will provide an overview of how study plans are being used in academic research settings.
Speakers:
- Dr Frances Rawle, Independent: An overview of the current landscape and pitfalls of ethical review.
- Dr Stephen Turnock, NC3Rs: The ARRIVE study plan.
- Lauren Cresser, Pirbright Institute: Showcasing the Pirbright study plan.
This webinar will be of interest to ethical review body members, animal care staff and researchers.
Background
The ARRIVE study plan is a new resource from the NC3Rs which incorporates elements of the ARRIVE guidelines – an internationally recognised standard to report animal experiments. Use of the study plan promotes rigour in the conduct of each animal experiment and encourages recording of important information about methods, which will be needed later for manuscript preparation.
