Join us for an in-person networking event hosted by the NC3Rs and BBSRC to launch a new joint funding initiative – Business Interaction Vouchers (BIVs). These awards aim to foster and strengthen early-stage collaborations between academic researchers and industry or SME partners that support the advancement of the 3Rs.

This is a valuable opportunity for NC3Rs Network members to:

  • Connect with fellow researchers and industry professionals.
  • Explore shared research interests.
  • Form new cross-sector partnerships.
  • Learn more about the BIV funding opportunity.
Registrations for this event are now closed.

Please note: All registrants must be a member of an NC3Rs Network.
If you are not already a member, please sign up to the most appropriate Network before registering.

If you have any questions, please contact the Funding team at 3rsgrants@nc3rs.org.uk.

Agenda

Alongside a Panel discussion including representatives from major funders and industry, there will be the opportunity for participants to showcase their work and areas for collaboration in flash talk and poster sessions.

About NC3Rs-BBSRC Business Interaction Vouchers

The aim of the scheme is to catalyse and strengthen cross-sector collaborations that enhance the biological relevance and real-world applications of models, tools, and technologies that replace, reduce or refine the use of animals. In particular, the call focuses on supporting work that improves the physiological accuracy and predictive validity of these 3Rs approaches.

Funding is available exclusively to members of the NC3Rs Networks and supports activities that are aligned with both the BBSRC remit and the NC3Rs mission. Proposed projects should clearly demonstrate a realistic potential to replace, reduce, or refine the use of animals in research, whether through the adaptation of existing tools for new applications, the generation of performance or validation data, or collaborative efforts to address technical barriers in model development or uptake.

By funding short-term and focused partnerships, the BIV scheme aims to create a foundation for future collaborative ventures, facilitating the exchange of 3Rs knowledge, models, and expertise between partner labs. Awards of up to £25k are available for projects lasting up to six months.
