As part of an NC3Rs-funded project to increase the uptake of 3D bioprinting approaches, Professor Kenny Dalgarno is organising a series of events to highlight novel bioprinting technology and how it can be used to create in vitro models.

This event, co-organised by Dr Thorsten Boroviak at the University of Cambridge, will begin with a demonstration of a novel bioprinting technology which offers new capabilities for creating in vitro models to increase their utility to replace animal use. A research seminar in the afternoon session will focus on pioneering bioprinting approaches in different fields of research.

Speakers include:

  • Dr Thosten Boroviak: Bioprinting human embryo models.
  • Professor Kenny Dalgarno: Modelling cardiac tissue.
  • Dr Deepali Pal: Bioprinting the bone marrow niche to model leukaemia.
  • Professor Andrew McCaskie: Bioprinting approaches in orthopaedics.
