Latest news from the NC3Rs: June 2026
Thank you to everyone who has attended NC3Rs webinars, contributed to our meetings and engaged with talks and training from our staff this month. We started June with our annual summer school and were delighted to welcome not only our NC3Rs-funded PhD students but also those supported by the BBSRC and MRC, expanding our training for early career researchers across the UK. Over three days of interactive sessions students developed key skills needed to maximise the 3Rs impacts of their work, including communicating clearly and concisely with different audiences, designing robust experiments and the importance of comprehensively reporting their results.
We ended the month with our latest NAMs Network event, bringing together over 80 experts from across sectors to discuss moving new approach methodologies (NAMs) from innovation to implementation. The meeting explored the whole pathway of NAMs from development through to application, supporting the replacement of animals in regulatory decision-making. A workshop report is being prepared.
