NC3Rs chief executive responds to Stop Vivisection ECI
An editorial response to the Stop Vivisection European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI), written by NC3Rs chief executive Dr Vicky Robinson CBE has been published in Lab Animal Europe's September journal.
The recent Stop Vivisection initiative, which suggested changes to the way biomedical and toxicological research is performed, collected over 1 million signatures. Dr Robinson's guest editorial discusses the arguments that proponent and opposition groups put forward in response to ECI, and outlines her frustration at some of the messages that are used. Furthermore, the article highlights the necessary steps needed to ensure that the 3Rs are integrated into the scientific community alongside relevant legislation and continuing dialogue.
The September issue will be available to subscribers soon on Lab Animal Europe's webpage, or you can view the editorial in a PDF format.
